Ubuntu is moving to a rolling release for non LTS versions. I think this is a perfect time to revisit the platform's testing behaviour.

They got rid of the alphas and one of the betas for automated smoke test on dailybuilds so you can use those. Shuttle worth has currently decided that for the time being ubuntu its self is not a full rolling release for non lts builds. Here is his reasoning [link] It is a lot closer to a rolling release with there surprisingly stable daily builds though, which has sped up development.
