Description

This is a first inking of one of the 4 image sketches I got from itara-ananke. It lacks shadows and lighting and I'm not sure I'm happy about the eyes yet.

So these images come from a story idea that may be developed further. This character is a computer tech geek who loves to solve problems and is very smart. Programmer and smart.

Prepare for updates. Original sketch here: [link]

EDIT: Check out the shaded version, i've done something to the eyes. not sure, but I'm happy enough with it.

EDIT: Wasn't happy with it, maybe I've revisited it too much.

EDIT: SVG file made available.

Tracing vector line from sketch like that isn't an easy task! The sketch artist that make the original piece can play on the size of his pencil lines without really thinking about it, while the vector artist will be working obviously more to obtain the same solid renders..

Here, the point is that, since you've taken the eyes more down than the sketch, you've been obligated to take the rest of her face more down too... So her mouth is too much on her chin..
So all you have to do is only take her face a little up. But be careful with the size of her hair, and its shape, so she can still have a normal sized head :)

To finish, the second thing that change a character's personality is it nose. On the sketch, her nose is more straight, whereas on your vector piece, its more curved..

Hope it'll help you to work on it ;)

Great job for the lighting study by the way!
